Hi, I'm Freja Stoltenberg Risager, residing in the heart of Aarhus with my husband, Jonathan.
I'm 26 years old, a medical student, and a passionate ski instructor,
constantly seeking the perfect blend of adrenaline and enjoyment in life.
Soon, I'll complete my medical studies and embark on my career as a doctor.
Yet, amidst the academic rigors, you'll often find me engaged in running,
road cycling, or on the yoga mat. And when opportunity knocks,
I pack my skis and head to the Alps to pursue my passion.
While my ski journey began at the age of 4, it was during high school
that the dream of becoming a ski instructor truly ignited. Today,
I am Eurotrainer certified by the Danish Ski School,
where I also contribute to training new ski instructors.
Alongside, participation in courses with SkiLab has honed my skills for ski exams.
My professional journey has seen me as a ski teacher in France, collaborating
with boarding schools and ski clubs. I cherish the art of teaching
and the thrill of off-piste skiing. One of my seasons was spent in Whistler,
with randonee and powder snow.
My favorite off-piste destination in Europe is Alagna in Monte Rosa, Italy.
Here, I relish randonee skiing, sip espresso, and navigate rough ski terrain.
I have also participated in Freeride DM a few times,
with my best placement being 3rd place (unofficial DM).
Some fun facts about me:
-
I'm an early riser and go to bed at 10:00 PM, which is perfect for life as a ski instructor to get the first turns
on the slopes in the morning. But I admit, I fear for my health when my daily life soon includes long night shifts.
- When I'm happy, I dance and hum. Then there's no doubt that I just think life is great!
Among my current SOS favorites are:
• Verbier Uni Windstopper Knit in Timber Wolf
• Half-Zip Fleece Jacket in Deep Mahogany
• Woven Women Pants in Black Ink
• Big Wood W SS Tee in Blue Blizzard
• Nordals Low Profile Cap in Pine Bark
My best ski experiences:
Reflecting on my ski experiences, my fondest memory remains in Canada, Whistler.
A season filled with abundant snowfall and shared with family. With cold cheeks, sweat
dripping down, and squinting towards the sun, we skied down the powder snow, which reached our thighs for several days.
